Matt Beardwood serves as Director of Wealth Management at Westover Capital Advisors. He is responsible for the oversight and delivery of comprehensive wealth management advice to individuals, families, and institutions. In addition to advising clients, Matt leads the development and implementation of firm-wide strategies and best practices to deepen relationships and expand Westover’s reach.
Matt brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services and investment industries. Before joining Westover, he served as Business Development Director and Relationship Manager at Glenmede in Wilmington, Delaware. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Director of Wealth Management Sales at Valley Forge Asset Management.
Raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Matt attended The Tatnall School. He graduated from Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, a rigorous certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, which signifies expertise in financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, tax, and estate planning.
A dedicated member of the Wilmington community, Matt currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. He formerly served as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Mass for the Homeless, Inc., and is a former Trustee of both The Tatnall School (DE) and the Providence Country Day School (RI). He also served on the Investment Committee of the Delaware Community Foundation. Matt is a Rotarian, having served as a Director of the Rotary Club of Wilmington and as Chair of the Investment Committee for the Rotary Club of Wilmington Educational Foundation.
In his free time, Matt enjoys golf, traveling with his wife, spending time with their twin boys at the Delaware beaches, and visiting family across the country.
