According to methodology provided by Statista, the Best Financial Advisory Firms 2026 ranking evaluated registered investment advisory firms based on a combination of client and peer recommendations and assets under management (AUM) growth.
To be eligible for consideration, firms were required to:
• Be registered as an investment advisory firm with the SEC and/or at the state level for at least one year
• Maintain a principal office in the United States
• Maintain a clean disciplinary record
• Provide financial planning and/or portfolio management services to individuals and/or small businesses
• Manage more than $500 million in assets under management
The ranking methodology incorporated:
• Recommendations from clients
• Recommendations from industry experts
• Recommendations from financial advisors
• Short-term and long-term assets under management (AUM) growth
Statista collected recommendations through an independent survey of more than 30,000 individuals, including clients, industry experts, and financial advisors. Recommendations represented 20% of a firm’s overall score. Assets under management growth represented 80% of the overall score and incorporated both one-year and five-year growth trends.
Based on the resulting scores, the top 1,000 firms were recognized as USA TODAY’s Best Financial Advisory Firms 2026.
